I grew up in Mesquite, Texas where I lived with my parents and 3 sisters for 17 years. I later graduated from North Mesquite High School where I was into athletics, hunting and fishing. Upon graduation I entered the University of Texas at Arlington where I attended for 2 years and decided college life was not right for me. After this short college life I went to work in construction and various other jobs in the area. In 1976, I met my wife Donna and was married in 1978. We later purchased 10 acres near Quinlan, Texas where we reside today. During our marriage we managed to produce 4 wonderful children and a lifetime of memories, none of which I would ever change. Shortly after our marriage, I was contacted by the Dallas Fire Department for an interview. I was accepted for employment with the fire department where I worked for more than 20 years and attained the rank of Captain. During this period I decided I had unfinished business and began taking college courses again and finally received my Bachelor’s Degree in 1992. At this point I was not satisfied so I applied for and was accepted into Texas Weslyan University School of Law. I graduated from law school in 1995 and took the State Bar and passed in 1996. This is when I first hung out my own shingle and began to practice law. I continued to work for the fire department and practice law for 3 more years before retiring from the fire department in 1999. At this point I started practicing law full time and have been doing so for more than 19 years. During my tenure as a practicing attorney, I have concurrently worked for the City of Royse City, worked as an assistant district attorney for the Hunt County District Attorney’s Office and worked as an Ad Junct Professor at Texas A&M University (Commerce).
